Water table

We noticed last week when practicing our cutting skills that there was a bit of struggling when it came to the process of squeeze-and-release without dropping the thing you’re attempting to hold. So, we thought a fun way to let the kids further work on this skill would be to bring back one of their favorite things—the water table!

We filled it with little plastic flowers to float in the water and gave them tongs to use, and told them to try to pick up the flowers with the tongs and then put the flowers in a cup to the side. There was a little stumbling at the start, but the kids improved quickly and did a great job! It was great to see how proud of themselves they were when they finished.
