Flowers unique as a handprint
Continuing with our ongoing theme of spring and learning about all the things that grow during the season, the kids worked on a project that let them return to one of their favorite things to do: have their hands painted! Once more, the room was filled with giggles and smiles as ticklish palms got covered in yellow paint. These handprints will soon come to life as flowers!
Before the hands, however, came painting some popsicle sticks to act as the stems of their flowers. When given the choice between coloring the sticks with markers or using some of the liquid paints, there was a unanimous, enthusiastic desire to paint. Not that we were surprised—the liquid paints are always a winner in our classroom!
