Giving our watermelons some clothes

After the red plates dried (and the teachers did some careful stapling to fold the plates in half to form slices of watermelon), the kids were ready to put together their watermelons! Using green squares as the rind and black circles as the seeds, the kids decorated their pieces of fruit front and back.

We also got to witness some great sharing amongst the kids, when they passed around the “rind pieces” and “seeds” when their friends couldn’t reach or needed some more!
