Our little butterflies, all grown up!

What was probably the best thing about our week was releasing the butterflies! We watched our little classroom friends emerge from their cocoons, then slowly learn how to be butterflies! The kids gave the butterflies oranges to drink juice from, watched their wings darken to lovely orange, and then saw them beginning to figure out how to fly in their house!

But of course, butterflies aren’t meant to be kept in a classroom, so during outside time we brought our little friends with us and gathered all the classes around to get a chance to see the butterflies for themselves, and then watch them fly free! There were so many bright smiles, and it was very fun to listen to all the kids say goodbye as our butterflies took to the skies.
