Coin Sorting
Our Morahs helped us do a coin sorting activity. They told us the different names (penny, nickel, dime, quarter) and began to explain their values.
Doing this activity one-on-one with the children allowed us to pay attention to each child’s strengths and guide them in building problem solving and visual discrimination skills. A sorting activity like this one is also a good way to foster independence as the task is self-correcting (if a mistake is made, it is almost immediately evident).
